What We Wore Wednesday

I love this outfit! This is my first time wearing my No Nonsense leggings and I really like them. I think they are so fun with the faux leather detailing on the side. I’m also glad that I paired it with this long flannel top from Dry Goods, it’s the perfect length to wear with leggings. With these leggings, I was worried that I was only going to be able to wear them going out but you can definitely dress them up or down.

I love these Tory Burch riding boots that I got for Christmas and have been dying to style them with different outfits!  I also got this plaid skirt for Christmas and think it looks perfect with the Tory Burch boots.  I definitely need to invest in some nude tights now for the colder months and so people don’t have to look at my pale legs 🙂  I can’t wait to do more looks with these boots and the skirt in the future!

Today I met up with a friend for lunch and ran some errands. It wasn’t too cold today so I decided to go with a vest so that I wouldn’t have to worry about wearing a coat. I was excited to wear this outfit since it was the first time I wore my button up shirt and riding boots that I got for Christmas.! Any outfit that consists of a vest and riding boots is one of my favorite fall/winter go-to’s.

This week it’s really starting to feel like winter with the cold temperatures.  I decided to wear this cozy sweater with leggings because I thought it would be perfect on a cold day like today.  I also just got this sweater from Old Navy last week from their big sale!  It was such a good deal and I liked it so much that I got it in two colors!

Happy hump day!

Brunch OOTD

We hope you had a great weekend!  Yesterday we went out for brunch with our older sister, which was really nice since us three don’t get to go out and do stuff altogether that often.  Our brunch was absolutely delicious as well!  Here are our outfit details:

Once we were able to leave our houses after the snowstorm, we met up and had a sister day today!  We spent time going out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, doing a little shopping, and just hanging out!  Due to the weather, Michelle decided it would be better to change into her bean boots halfway through the day when we were out and about!  It was definitely nice to fit in a sister day over our busy Christmas breaks!

Christmas OOTD

We can’t believe how quickly Christmas came and went this year!  Is anyone else feeling a bit depressed now that it’s all over? We definitely are!  This Christmas, we had a wonderful time with our family.

I decided to go with layers today since it was kind of chilly, but I didn’t want to wear a coat. I love this preppy looked with a button up under a sweater! With it being finals week at my college I haven’t had much of a reason to dress up the last few days. Tonight I am going out to dinner with a friend so it was nice to find an excuse to dress up a bit!

I love to wear nothing more than a puffer vest on cold days! Since it was chilly  with a mix of snow and rainy I decided to go with this warm look. The LL Bean boots kept my feet warm while walking to class yet still look nice! I went with a classic flannel and puffer vest to help keep me warm yet looking put together. I also added a statement necklaces for a little pop to the look!

What We Wore Wednesday

In true sister form, we wore the same shirt today without realizing it until we were talking on the phone about our outfits!  In this week’s What We Wore Wednesday post, you’ll get to see two different ways for styling this shirt.  Enjoy!

It was finally a cooler day today! To celebrate I broke out one of my new J. Crew Factory button up tops that I have been waiting to wear. Since it was still a little warm I decided to pair it was cropped jeggings and Sperrys. To embrace the preppy look of this outfit I decided to wear one of my pear necklaces which I felt help complete the look. I can’t wait until it gets even cooler and I can start layering!

Today it finally felt like a true fall day here!  This September has been quite warm, so I’ve hardly been able to wear any fall clothes.  I took this opportunity to wear my new grey herringbone vest from J.Crew Factory that I’ve been wanting to wear!  I chose to style it with this pretty purple shirt, black jeggings, and riding boots.  I love how this look turned out and can’t wait to style this vest with different outfits more in the coming months!

St. Lucia Style

As some of you may already know, we were in St. Lucia last week for a sister vacation!  We went on vacation to celebrate Michelle’s 25th and golden birthday.  St. Lucia is located in the Eastern Caribbean region, relatively close to South America.  While on the island we stayed at the Coconut Bay Resort & Spa, which is located less than 5 minutes from the airport. We loved the beautiful ocean and warm weather!  Now here’s a look at the outfits we wore while we were in St. Lucia.

One of our favorite things that we did while on vacation was zip lining in the rain forest!  It was so much fun and such a great experience. You can watch a video of our zip lining adventure below.

Have you done any traveling this summer or have any summer travel plans?  We would love to know where you’ve gone to or where you’ll be going to.  Let us know in the comments below.

The Kentucky Derby

With yesterday being the Kentucky Derby, I of course had to celebrate.  I was invited by one of my guy friends to a Derby party at his house. I decided to go with a Lilly Pulitzer dress since it seemed most fitting for the occasion and I paired it with a big hat.

The weather was lovely and perfect for an outdoor party! We started our festivities relatively early to have plenty of time to catch up and play some lawn games before the race. We all had a great time talking while drinking sangria and mint juleps. As the race got closer we all went inside to watch the race and some of the pre race action. My bet was on Carpe Diem and even though I didn’t pick the winning horse, it was still fun to watch. I hope within the next few years I am able to watch the Kentucky Derby in person!

Here is the recipe I used to make my sangria!

Sangria Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles chilled dry red wine, like Rioja
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup superfine granulated sugar
  • 2 oranges, cut into thin rounds
  • 2 lemons, cut into thin rounds
  • 3 limes, cut into thin rounds
  • 2 apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
  • 2 cups cold club soda

Directions:

In a large pot or bowl, combine the wine, brandy, orange juice, and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the orange, lemon, and lime slices, the apples and refrigerate until well chilled, about 1 hour. Remove from the refrigerator and add the soda. Serve in glasses over ice.

I hope you all enjoyed the derby! Comment below and tell us what you did!
