With this mild fall weather, I haven’t been able to wear my puffer vests near as much as I would like! Luckily today was a chillier day so I could finally wear one of my favorite puffer vests! I love this classic herringbone vest because you can wear it with so many different looks. Today I decided to wear it with a wine colored top and a black skirt. I love how this look turned out and the color combination of it! This is my first skirt from J.Crew Factory and I love how it fits. I want to get this skirt in more colors because it fits so well and is very comfortable as well.

Rachel’s Look

Today was cold and raining so I wasn’t able to get a good picture of me in my outfit. I still wanted to share with you my outfit so I decided to take a picture of it laid out. Even though it wasn’t the best weather I still had meetings so I wanted to look nice and put together. I went with a J. Crew vest because they are great at keeping you warm but still look good. I also wore my black Hunter rain boots since I was walking around campus and I didn’t want my other shoes to get wet. I love my Hunter boots because I feel like they still look cute with most outfits!

Michelle’s Fall Fashion Wish List

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to shop for fashion-wise. I love boots, sweaters, scarves, vests, and the list could go on! This year I have been eyeing up a lot of things that I want to buy this fall. Like my spring fashion wish list, I’ve narrowed down my list to my top five to share with you.

1. A dark colored chambray shirt

I currently have two chambray shirts, but they are lighter ones. I love layering chambray shirts in the fall with sweaters and different things. I think a dark chambray shirt would look better with some outfits than my lighter ones!

2. Brown Riding Boots

I want to find a really good pair of brown riding boots this fall to buy. So far I haven’t found a pair that I absolutely love everything about them. Most boots are either too dark or too tall. I’m looking for cognac ones that don’t go quite up to the knee because I want to wear boot socks with them.

3. Sweater dress

I don’t have many dresses that are suitable for fall. I would love to stock up on some sweater dresses to wear through the winter since they look stylish, yet are comfortable. Red Dress Boutique has posting some really cute ones. I may have to break down soon and buy one!

4. Brown booties

Not only do I want some brown riding boots, but I want some brown booties as well. I’ve really come to like booties. I would love to get some brown booties to round out my collection so I have booties to go with any outfit!

5. Sweaters

In the fall I’m obsessed with sweaters. I absolutely love them! Obviously this fall, sweaters in general are on my wish list. I would specifically like to find some more over sized one that I can wear with leggings as well.

Winter Fashion Staple: The Puffer Vest

One of our favorite winter go to’s is a puffer vest. A puffer vest is a great way to not only keep you warm on those cold winter days but also adds a nice little flare to your outfit! We have styled the puffer vest in 6 different ways to help give you inspiration to style yours.

Since the herringbone vest is so popular we decided to do two different looks with it.

Look #1 Michelle paired hers with a buffalo check shirt. This vest looks great with a lot of different patterns besides just buffalo check you can also pair it with polka a dots and stripes to name a few.

Look #2 Rachel dressed hers vest up with a coral J Crew button up and some pearls.

Look #3 With this vest being a very neutral color Michelle decided to add a fun lightweight sweat underneath.

Look #4 Rachel brightened up her navy vest with a fun colored check shirt. The best part about this vest is that it is 100% reversible. The other side is fun with a navy and white polk-a-dot pattern.

Look #5 First off we love that Lilly has puffer vest with a pop of their signature Lilly pattern on the inside. This vest looks great with paired with a bright colored shirt. We think it would also look good with a Lilly pattern shirt as well.

Look #6 With a louder pattern vest Rachel wanted to keep her shirt more simple with just a cream color. She also added her signature gold monogram which is always a nice touch with a vest.

As you can see from our 6 looks that we put together when we wear puffer vests we almost always wear statement necklaces, monograms, and or boots to complete our outfits. LL Bean Duck Boot Shortage- Great Alternatives!

If you’re like me, then you waited until the last minute to buy snow boots and are now having a tough time finding cute ones. I have been wanting the LL Bean Duck boots for some time, but I kept forgetting to order them and when I finally got around to getting them they were all sold out. I never anticipated that there would be almost a 100,000 name waiting list for the boots.I knew I couldn’t wait any longer so I had to find an alternative.

When I began the search I thought I was never going to be able to find anything I liked, at least not in a size 9. Luckily my mom was also looking and she found the Sperry Top-Sider ‘Saltwater’ Duck Boot at Macy’s. I’m so happy that I ended up getting these boots. They are even better than I expected them to be. They are extremely comfortable and I love that they lace up but you don’t have to tie them. Below is a picture of the ones that I ended up getting, which also come in red. I have also posted some other great alternatives that still have sizes available!
