Disney World: Travel Guide

We are so excited about today’s post!  It involves two things we love: Disney World and traveling.  We went to Disney World the end of February this year for the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend.  Although that was our main reason for going, we still made the most of our free time by hitting up multiple parks.  We’ve been going to Disney World since we were little and still love it as adults.  We thought it would be fun to create a Disney World travel guide for you based on all of our favorite things and recommendations.  We’re giving you the low down on where to stay, recommendations for each park and Disney Springs, as well as general tips and tricks.

My Top 17 Books of 2017

Since 2017 has come to a close, I thought it would be fun to share with you my top favorite books that I read in 2017.  I’m a HUGE book worm and am almost always in the middle of reading a book.  This year I read 83 books (outside of teaching), which I think is a good accomplishment considering I was finishing up grad school for half of the year.

The books I’m sharing with you today are in no particular order.  I’m a very indecisive person so I thought I would have too much difficulty putting them in an order.  These books are the ones I read in 2017 that I rated the highest, recommended to others, overall loved and just stuck with me after finishing them.  Let’s get into my top reads.

Favorite Summer Reads

Besides fashion and travel, reading is a big passion of mine.  Rarely am I not in the middle of reading a book.  I love summertime because I have more time to read, which means I can cross more books off my to-read list.  This summer I read 26 books from June 1st until now.  Of those 26 books, I’m going to share with you my top favorites that stood out to me the most and that I would highly recommend.

Belize: Travel Guide

I recently got back from an 11 day trip to Belize and had an amazing time!   I actually traveled solo on this trip with the tour company, EF College Break.  I’ve gone on a few trips before with this company, but Rachel has always gone with me.  EF College Break is for people ages 18-28, so unfortunately I only have a year left to travel with this company.  There were 42 others on this trip with me, along with a tour director.  I met a lot of new people and made some awesome new friends!  I highly suggest EF College Break if you want to travel, but don’t want to plan everything.  They literally take care of it all for you, which makes things much less stressful.

I thought it would be fun to share with you my travel experience in Belize.  To make things easier, I’m breaking things down into the places I went to.  For each place, I’ll share the highlights of the things I did there.  At the end of this post I’ll also be sharing with you tips, tricks, and hints for Belize that I learned prior to going there and while I was there.  Let’s get into it!

Christmas Baking: One of our Favorite Traditions!

One of our favorite things about the holiday season is baking Christmas cookies and treats!  A few weekends ago we spent the weekend baking some of our favorite cookies and treats.  The great thing about the cookies and treats we made is that they can  easily be made year round and/or for different holidays!  You might just need to switch up a thing or two, like the color of m&m’s, in each.  Watch our video below to see details of our baking weekend, with pictures and recipes included!

Here are links to the full recipes we used!
Christmas Rolo Treats
Christmas White Trash
Cut-Out Cookies (we used our own recipe, which is in the video-here’s a link to another good one)
Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Cookies

Let us know if you make any of these recipes over the next couple of days!

What are your favorite Christmas cookies and treats to bake?  We would love it if you would share your recipes with us in the comments!

We hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
