Winter Fashion Must-Haves

We are well into the winter season, which also happens to be my least favorite season.  Sorry all of you winter lovers!  I love the holiday season, but once that’s over I’m ready for the snow and cold to go away.  During the winter months, I find I get into a bit of a fashion rut eventually as well.  With living in Minnesota, I feel like I’m stuck wear the same few pairs of shoes (boots/booties) because I don’t want to ruin my other ones with the salt.  Then I end up having my go-to sweaters, vests, and leggings that are on repeat because they are what’s most comfortable, yet warm.  The rest of my clothes are left neglected.  Anyone else find themselves in a fashion rut during the winter?

This winter, I’m trying really hard not to fall completely into my usual fashion rut.  Some weeks when it’s really cold, it does happen.  However, I feel like I’m doing better at switching up my outfits.  If you find yourself needing some winter fashion inspiration, I hope you’ll get it in today’s post.  I’m going to share with you my winter fashion must-haves.  The fashion picks I’m sharing with you are the things that I find myself reaching for again and again because I love them so much.  To shop any of these items, simply click the title below the image.

This Super Soft V-Neck Sweater
This sweater is the softest, coziest sweater I’ve ever owned.  It’s also the perfect length for leggings.  True confession, I have this sweater in at least six colors because I love it so much. It’s just such a versatile sweater.  You can easily dress it up or down!  I probably wear this sweater at least once a week during the winter.

This Puffer Vest
I’ve had this vest for probably three to four years, yet it still continues to be a staple in my closet during the colder months. The herringbone pattern adds a nice touch to pretty much any outfit.  I wear this with dresses, sweaters and leggings, and even more casual outfits.  I get so much use out of this vest.  I think it’s my most worn vest that I have.

Fleece Turtleneck Sweater
I bought this sweater during one of Abercrombie’s sales on a whim.  My classroom at work is always super cold, so when I saw that this was fleece I figured it would be perfect for work.  I originally bought it in a maroon color and then later bought it in grey as well because I liked it so much.  It’s even cozier than I expected.  It’s not a very long sweater, but you could easily add a longer t-shirt underneath for some added length.

Spanx Faux Leggings
I got these leggings for Christmas and really like them.  I wasn’t sure which size I should get.  I usually wear a size small in leggings, but after reading reviews and looking at the sizing, I went with size medium.  I’m glad I went with the medium, because they fit great.  I think the small would have been a little too tight.  What I love about these leggings is that they make your outfit look a little dressier than just plain black leggings.  You could easily dress these down if you wanted too.  I find that these Spanx leggings are very flattering as well!

 Aerie Plush Sleep Leggings
You’ve probably seen these leggings all over on Instagram if you follow any fashion bloggers.  Everyone has been talking about them and how soft they are.  I  now have four pairs of these because they’re so soft and comfortable!  In the evenings, I pretty much have live in these.  Currently these are only $11.99 and there are still two colors available.   The red stripe is available in sizes XXS-M and the grey is available in all sizes.  These run true to size!

The Coziest Pullover
I got this pullover for Christmas and I’ve been living it in ever since!  It seriously feels like you’re wearing a blanket when you have it on.  It’s so cozy, soft, and warm!  Unfortunately, it has been quite popular this winter!  I think most sizes are sold out at the link I shared above.  However, you can also shop it here too where there are more options!

J. Crew Factory Classic Plaid Scarf
This is such a great scarf!  I have it in a few different colors and patterns.  This scarf is soft and warm making it perfect for the winter months in Minnesota.  I like to wear it best with sweaters and out and about with our winter coats.

As you can see from my winter fashion must-haves, all of these pieces are either comfortable, soft, warm or all of the above.  These three things are key to me during the winter.  Shop my picks below!

    1. Hats are definitely a good winter must have! The only reason they weren’t one of my picks is because I don’t pull off hats well 🙂 Glad you liked the post!
