Teacher Style: First Day of School

If you didn’t know, I’m an elementary special education teacher.  I absolutely love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything!  I’m now back to work after a truly amazing summer and working on getting back into my routine for teaching.  Last Thursday was our official first day of school with students.  Even as a teacher I still get excited and nervous for the first.  I also love to carefully pick out my first day of school outfit.  I’m sharing that outfit with you in this post!

I absolutely loved my first day of school outfit this year!  I actually got this dress from Francesca’s Collections a few years back and hadn’t really worn it much.  I think I sort of forgot about it!  I’m glad I discovered it again though.  It’s such a pretty dress with the beautiful lace detailing.  I really like the teal color of it as well.  I ended up wearing this dress with black leggings because it was a pretty chilly day.  I debated wearing tights instead, but in the end I decided that leggings would be warmer and more comfortable.

I decided to wear my new Blondo booties that I scored during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer to finish off the look.  I liked these booties so much that I got them in black as well.  They are suede, but the feature that caught my eye is that they are waterproof.  With where I live, I thought this would be really useful!  As far as jewelry goes, I decided to keep it simple.  The only jewelry I wore was my HRH choker.  I love wearing this delicate choker.  When I don’t feel like wearing a statement necklace, my monogram, or a long necklace, this choker still adds a little something to my outfit.

If you’re a teacher or student, I hope you’re having a great start to your school year!   I would love for you to share your first day of school outfits with me in the comments below!
